Departments

Carver Middle School’s academic departments offer a wide range of educational and enrichment programs for students in grades six through eight. The school has several academic departments including English, Math, Science, History, and Foreign Languages. Students can begin to extend their learning based on their individual interests and explore elective classes in areas such as music, foreign languages, technology, and more. Students will also have the opportunity to see options for honors courses. All eighth-grade students finish middle school with an academic and career plan based on career pathway interests. Middle school counselors help to identify specialty centers and career and technical center opportunities that align with their academic and career planning.

 

Math ALL Carver math students will have the opportunity and equitable support to actively learn in an engaging, productive, culturally authentic, joyful Mathematics learning environment that enhances their math identity to become confident independent learners, mathematical thinkers, and problem solvers.	English (ELA/ELD) Our vision is for students to learn, expand, and grow their English skills necessary for the real world in order for students to be productive citizens with character, commitment, and community values. Science The mission of the Carver Ms. Science department is to create an environment that empowers students to become 21 century problem solvers and students who are college ready	Physical Education	SP ED To advocate for the Carver Special Education community and its stakeholders, all staff will collaborate to use inclusive instructional tools and maintain high expectations. We will monitor student progress using IEP goals and testing data.
