LOCAL SCHOOL LEADERSHIP COUNCIL

Congratulations! Carver has a new LSLC!
Thank you who voted and those who have accepted these most important positions.

The Local School Leadership Council (LSLC) is a shared decision-making body, composed of elected parents, community members, school personnel, and the Student Body President and Vice President (students in Leadership). The LSLC works cooperatively to make decisions in these areas of the school program:

  1. School Calendar
  2. Professional development schedule
  3. Budget for instructional materials
  4. Student discipline guidelines
  5. Guidance for school equipment rentals such as copy machines

MEETINGS

The LSLC will meet monthly, beginning of the 2022 - 2023 school year, on the first Wednesday of every month through ZOOM or in the Parent Center located in our Carver Building unless otherwise indicated. LSLC will vote to confirm the time and preferred method of meetings. YEARLY CALENDAR TO BE DETERMINED. CHECK BACK FOR UPDATES.

LSLC HISTORY

The Local School Leadership Council (LSLC) program was created in 1989, in response to teacher demands for schools to have more local control. The Council allows parents, teachers, and other school staff members to contribute to planning that affects their school.

LSLC's primary purpose is to influence the budgeting of funds titled 4170, but it is also in charge of even scheduling and other areas.

Carver elected 4 parents and 1 alternate to our LSLC. 8 certificated/teachers and 2 classified. The principal & UTLA Chapter Chair are mandated members. Meetings will be monthly. Please check back on this page for our complete schedule, as it is still to be determined. Thank you for your interest!
